Inspired by a vacation with friends a few years ago, I took photos from the trip and decorated a clock. I added some thin scrapbook embellishments and stickers (to not interfere with the hand movement). It was a really fun gift to make and give.
Several companies sell clock pieces that allow you customize them - from different shapes, styles of numbers, hands, etc. I just found one that I worked for who posted my ideas on their site.
Really, it doesn't take that much TIME! Make your girlfriend a gift with pictures of the two of you and/or elements that make it uniquely HER. Have fun!
